The Lufft ARS31Pro-UMB Active Road Sensor is a sophisticated device designed for monitoring road conditions, particularly in adverse weather. This sensor is embedded flush with the road or runway surface and utilizes active cooling and heating technology (Peltier elements) to measure the freezing temperature. This method ensures accurate readings regardless of the type of de-icing materials used.
The ARS31Pro-UMB features a two-part housing design, which facilitates easy maintenance and recalibration. The core electronic unit can be quickly removed and replaced, significantly reducing downtime for maintenance. Additionally, the sensor includes a separate housing for measuring road surface temperature, located 50 cm away from the main sensor. This dual setup not only provides real-time road condition data but also predicts critical conditions that may arise within the next few hours.
